Dr Lui Ng received his BSc and MPhil degrees from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and obtained his PhD and postdoctoral training in the Division of Colorectal Surgery of Department of Surgery at The University of Hong Kong. He is currently a Research Assistant Professor.
Dr Ng’s research focuses on both basic and translation studies in colorectal cancer in order to provide clues on how to combat this common and life-threatening cancer and improve the prognosis of colorectal cancer patients. He is particularly interested in investigating the molecular factors leading to cancer metastasis and chemoresistance, and therapeutic approaches to target advanced colorectal cancer. He is also interested in identifying non-invasive biomarkers for diagnosis of colorectal cancer, as well as for prognosis and disease monitoring of post-operative colorectal cancer patients. To bring the research findings into clinical application, Dr Ng is collaborating with researchers of other department and biotechnology companies on biomarker application and drug testing.
