Biography

Professor Billy Cheung graduated from The University of Hong Kong and joined the Department of Surgery at Queen Mary Hospital and Tung Wah Hospital after internship. He obtained his Fellowship in General Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and was awarded the Li Shield’s Medal by the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong.

In 2023, he joined The University of Hong Kong as a Clinical Assistant Professor, working in the Division of Breast Surgery under Professor Ava Kwong’s leadership. Professor Cheung’s commitment to advancing the field of breast care is evident in his involvement in several clinical research projects. His research interests range from breast oncology to inflammatory breast conditions.

In addition to his clinical work, Professor Cheung is deeply involved in medical education, completing a Master of Education in 2021, contributing to various educational committees, and leading several educational studies.
