Biography

Professor Jacky Tam obtained his medical degree from the University of Hong Kong in 2010. Following his surgical training in various hospitals in Hong Kong, he became a Fellow in General Surgery in 2018. Professor Tam has special interest in Vascular Surgery, leading him to join the Department of Surgery at Queen Mary Hospital in 2020 to further specialize in this field. He successfully completed sub-specialty training in Vascular Surgery through the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong as well as the Exit Assessment in Vascular Surgery for Transition Fellows in 2023. Professor Tam is now a registered Vascular Surgery Specialist in Hong Kong.

Professor Tam's passion for Vascular Surgery encompasses a range of procedures, including open & endovascular surgeries of aorta, treatment of peripheral vascular disease, and interventions for varicose veins & deep vein conditions. Inspired by Professor Stephen Cheng from the Department, Professor Tam has joined the University of Hong Kong as a Clinical Assistant Professor since 2024. In addition to being an author and co-author of several publications, he actively collaborates with other institutions on medical technology research. Professor Tam is frequently invited to speak in the media, regional, and international meetings.
