Biography
A graduate of The University of Hong Kong, Clinical Assistant Professor Wong Ting Fung (Thomas) specializes in reconstructive urology, urological oncology, and robotic surgery at HKU and Queen Mary Hospital. As Clinical Lead for the territory’s reconstructive urology service, Professor Wong focuses on complex upper and lower tract reconstruction, while advancing the regional adoption of robotic-assisted transplant and minimally invasive surgical programs. A leader in male voiding dysfunction, he was the first surgeon in Asia to introduce the latest-generation Adjustable Transobturator Male System (ATOMS) for post-prostatectomy incontinence.
Professor Wong completed advanced post-fellowship training in complex reconstructive surgery at Macquarie University Hospital in Sydney under Professor Vincent Tse, Shanghai Sixth People’s Hospital under Professor Fu Qiang, and Peking University First Hospital under Professor Li Xuesong. Internationally recognized for surgical education, he leads advancedo training platforms including the HKU Male Incontinence Masterclass and co-organizes the HKU–ESEUT Robotic and Laparoscopic Urology Masterclass in collaboration with the EAU Section of Uro-Technology.
An active researcher and scholar, Professor Wong has authored textbook chapters on penile cancer and incontinence management, alongside peer-reviewed publications in urological oncology and reconstruction. He regularly presents his work at premier global congresses, including the American Urological Association (AUA), Société Internationale d'Urologie (SIU), and the EAU Section of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons (ESGURS). Professionally, Professor Wong serves as a Member of the Young Urologists Chapter of the Hong Kong Urological Association and a Committee Member of the Hong Kong Society of Endourology.
